"My prints come from dreams. I see my art in my dreams, and I have to keep making it to protect and sustain that artistic presence. Prints are the perfect medium for this process because you have to envision the finished piece before you even begin. For me, printmaking feels like a puzzle; a way to fit different pieces and colors together into the complex design I want to form. One never relinquishes memories of their past, and my prints are a way of channeling that nostalgia. I work with linoleum and wood blocks to create abstract and semi - objective prints that evoke my Turkish heritage and urban sensibilities. Every detail in my work represents the volume occupied by the fragments of my experiences." Eda Erdik New York City 2012
